Ted Butterman Bands & Orchestras…has provided solid entertainment for four decades. Although based in the Chicago area, we reach out, not only in the Midwest, but nationwide, offering superior Dixieland and Swing groups for all occasions.
In addition to providing clients with a wide range of entertainment ideal for private parties, conventions, Mardi Gras, bar-b-ques, etc., we specialize in Swing combos, ala Benny Goodman of the 1930s and '40s, as well as Dixieland and music of the Gay Nineties (1890s). The Cubs Dixieland Band has been playing the 'friendly confines' of Wrigley Field for over a quarter of a century. Coincidentally, at our first performance, April 9, 1982, the Cubs and Fergie Jenkins, with help from Lee Smith, beat the Mets 5-0. Our foot-tapping aggregation consists of Trumpet, Trombone (or Tenor Sax), Clarinet, Banjo, and Tuba. We have appeared on TV hundreds of times over the years on many local and nationally broadcast programs.
The band performs at any kind of function, limited only by your imagination, including picnics, Bar-B-Qs, pool parties, Mardi Gras, conventions and wedding receptions. We have even performed at five funerals. The band is acoustic and not restricted by electrical power sources. This enables us to "stroll" about from place to place among the guests, if you prefer. We appear in Cubs uniform unless otherwise specified.
Specializing in the swing music of the 30s and 40s, the Neo-Passe is versatile and their repertoire reaches back to the 20s and forward to the 50s, 60s, and some later, excluding rock. The band is also available to perform at other venues and affairs such as wedding receptions, private parties and conventions. Singers are also available upon request.
This top flight jazz band consists of piano, bass, drums, rhythm guitar and features a variety of horn players rotating on different nights including reed players, trumpets, trombones, vibes, and other nationally celebrated instrumentalists. Ted Butterman Bands & Orchestras offers a wide variety of entertainment in addition to Swing and Dixieland Bands. We provide piano soloists for cocktail parties or piano bars. We have the finest singers if you feel that would add to your function. If you would like a strolling accordion player that specializing in ethnic music, such as French or Polish, we can do that, too. Perhaps your occasion calls more contemporary jazz group. We can certainly fill the bill there also. If there's anything special you need, like Stilt people or Clowns, give us a try. Ted's never been shot from a cannon, but if the money's right…well.
